Diese Arbeit stellt die Ergebnisse der Feldforschung mit der Leitfrage: Wie nehmen die Menschen in Stolipinovo ihre Situation wahr und wie gehen sie damit um? vor. Um dieser Frage nachzugehen, wurde die Leitfrage in die acht Themen Einkommen/Arbeit, soziales Netzwerk, Familie, Bildung, Wohnen, Gesundheit, Ortswahrnehmung und Transnationalität übersetzt, die in leitfadengestützten Interviews mit Menschen aus Stolipinovo angesprochen wurden. Zunächst wird in dieser Arbeit die theoretische Analyse der Literatur zu den Themen Armut auf räumlicher Ebene (Segregation), die Armut auf individueller Ebene, Transnationalismus und Roma in Bulgarien vorgestellt. Die wichtigsten Ergebnisse der Feldforschung sind folgende: Die Familie steht für Menschen in Stolipinovo an erster Stelle, Einkommensknappheit ist weit verbreitet und prägt den Alltag weitgehend. Transnationalisierung ist für viele eine Chance, der Armut entgegenzuwirken. Die Wohnsituation ist schwierig, der Zugang zu Bildung und Gesundheitssystem eingeschränkt. Die Menschen in Stolipinovo sind sich ihrer Armut sehr bewusst und es herrscht eine allgemeine Unzufriedenheit über die Umstände. Die Bewältigung der eigenen Armut besteht überwiegend aus einem starken familiären Zusammenhalt und aus der Suche nach besserer Arbeit außerhalb Bulgariens.

This paper presents the results of the field research with the key question: How do the people perceive their situation and how do they handle the daily life? To investigate this question, it was divided into eight main themes which were addressed and defined in guided interviews with the people of Stolipinovo: Income/work, social network, family, education, living, health, perception of the place and transnationalism. Firstly, the theoretical analysis of the literature of the themes poverty on spatial level (segregation), poverty on individual level, transnationalism and Rome in Bulgaria will be shown. The most important results of the field research are the following: family is often the most important, lack of income is a very widespread problem and it influences the daily life enormously. Transnationalism looms largely and additionally, it is a very popular way to counteract poverty. The living situation is very difficult, the access to Education and health system restricted. From this we can conclude that the people in Stolipinovo are very aware of their own poverty and there is a general dissatisfaction about the circumstances. Overall, the coping with the situation is mostly consists of a very strong family solidarity and the search for better work in foreign countries.
